I remember when he got shot (the final time) and was like, "Oh, he didn't die right away? He'll pull through, as always." Then, six days later, I remember listening to Angie Martinez on the way home from school with my boy and she broke the news. I was numb, astonished.
I lived in Jersey at the time and was a fan of Pac and Big (f*ck that nonsense ppl think).
But, for reals, though: I was f*cked up after finding out BIG died.

After watching how Eazys death just came and went without any real hoopla excpet from Bone Thugs....I thought Pac would get the same treatement. Never did imagine Pac become martyred the way he was. It seemed fake at first because all of a sudden everyone was a Pac fan when right before he died it wasnt like that. I remember weeks later after Pac died some dude was arguing with some female and he screamed "b*tch ima thug!" and the first thing i thought was "who do u think u are? Tupac? " cuz dudes werent using that term thug like that in the NY slang.....but that all changed real quick.

He was expected to survive so when he died it caught people off guard it was friday late afternoon/early evening when they announced it on radio.I remember they played that nikkas music on the radio ALL NIGHT it got to the point nikkas was like

It was almost unbelievable. He had already not died so much that I actually remember we laughed when the news broke. It was surreal.

I remember it was a friday night and we we're headed to our HS football game. We stopped off at mcdonalds first to meet up with some folks. When we heard on the radio he had died we were stunned of course. Then everybody started playing his music in the parking lot. It was like 50 of us out there then the police came after about 30 minutes. Nobody went to the game, we ended up at my homeboys house playing pac and smoking and drinking the rest of the night.
Breh I was in Africa and people were mourning. I wasn't a fan at the time but I saw how it affected people. They had buses with Pac murals out there.

It had got to the point that as a young dude (think I was 14 or something) I was thinking 2pac was like a super hero that couldn't be killed.

i remember hearing it on MTV news when the chick announced his death. I was absolutely shocked. I was in middle school when it happened, it was the talk for the next few days. Everybody coming up with theories who did it. I can't believe its been sixteen years.
