Black frats are pretty useless in the real world, if you wanted that benefit should have joined a white frat.
My best friend an AKA. A lot of my little nikkas are alphas and kappas, a lot dudes that were my close circle of friends back when I was a college boy are omegas/alphas now.
That black frat shyt hasn't done shyt for them, the only majorly successful one was my nikka that became a Kappa, but that didn't happen because his Greek org, he successful because he was a hustler like me (I'm honestly surprised even decided to finish college)
Comparing the street and legit world doesn't make sense, but no joke I know way more successful (in terms of having what they want in life and being able to take care of themselves and family) young gangbangers than frat members at this point. Hell I know real gangbangers that got academic scholarships and graduated.
Im just saying if I was in the business of letting a bunch of nikka harm and demean me so I can be their homie (which I'm not) , Imma go back home and become Braeswood Taliban or Forum Park Crip before Alpha/Kappa/Omega. They're more useful in certain walks of life.

The biggest event promoters here in Houston are former gangbangers, the security at the popular black clubs and venues are commonly gangbangers. If you're young and black, gang members are usually never far from reach.

Best way I can put it is you get out what you want out of it. People join for all kinds of reasons. If you wanna network then do that. Party, do that. Do programs? Sure.
Chill with the people that you're supposed to be around before taking that next step. There are plenty of horror stories but that's mostly when dealing with dumb ass nikkas that don't know how to pledge. Majority of chapters got way more sense than the general public thinks. That gay stuff def doesn't fly in most places either.
Before all else, you a man first. And most bros understand this. Doing homework, cooking food, doing any kind of chores = bum shyt. My chapter never got down like that. If they treating you like a stepchild or a bytch nikka think about if you could really handle that.
