"Latino" is short for "Latinamericano", it's not supposed to be the same thing as Latin.

The gene pools of most Latin American countries have a huge white component, often the majority.

Not saying most of the inhabitants of these countries would be considered white, but you can't really say that their speaking their slave master's language when they often have more slave master DNA than black or native DNA

I have to respectfully disagree with EastCoast on that one, "Latino" isn't supposed to denote them being Latin, although most Latinos do have significant European ancestry.
