At the end of the day, the ASAP Mob is popular because they're running with internet trends, not because they're nice. They're spitting trends, and its no wonder why the kids who are too cool for OF would immediately flock to ASAP and identify with their movement. I'm curious to hear more of Nast when he isn't being put in a box by Yams, and I can also say the same about some of Yams' other artists, like Aston Matthews and even Bodega Bamz.

I'm gonna say this too: OF is unquestionably more creative than ASAP Mob, as well. I don't like their music, but at least they're doing their own thing and found an audience, even if its a cac audience.

Edit: my bad not tryna derail the topic, but I just don't think Ferg is nice. trap lord had its cuts, but it was clear that ferg just ain't that strong as far as his writing goes.

Both these groups are big because of their online following, and that's what I'm getting at here. Even though they're both different groups and appeal to different people, their audiences are largely made up of young people who are infatuated with a trendy image more than anything else. Yams knows this, and its why all his artists follow a strict style in their music (its why I said I want to hear Nast do something without Yams controlling what it sounds like).

I always thought Ferg was an interesting rapper, but Trap Lord just felt hollow as fukk breh. Even the introspective song "Cocaine Castles" was just some clichéd writing, and that's supposed to be his deep, heartfelt type of song; shyt sounded like he was writing about New Jack City
