Mark my words black America will rise once Hip Hop culture has been denounced. The days of Public Enemy and black empowerment in Hip Hop are long gone. The leaders of the culture now are the artist who can sell the most dope and kill black people the best. Jay-Z, Birdman, Rick Ross ect... When I was in my teens and early 20's I never would have imagined things would have got this bad. Now I'm at the point where I would rather hear rap music about painting houses in the ghetto and growing gardens. I honestly thought in 2008 when the cacs made Obama President to give black people hope that would be the end of such negative imagery in Hip Hop. Militants and pseudo intellectuals will keep blaming poverty for Black on Black murder and will turn the other cheek at how much of an impact these rappers and the content of their lyrics have on teenagers. But ever since I started coaching high school basketball five years ago at a public school I understand it all to well. I have to deal with black teenagers shooting each other on a regular basis. Thank god for LeBron and the black excellence he portrays that help balance out the non stop negative imagery that Hip Hop culture has brought upon black Americans.

I try to explain to young kids that, that narrative in the black community promotes white supremacy in itself. You are essentially saying only white people are good enough to speak with diction and be intelligent. A lot of these blacks kids roasting others for taking school seriously need to ask themselves how far being ignorant will take them because it is precisely what the larger white supremacist movement wants. Without a degree/skill or connections u are relegated to being a wage earner or essentially someone's slave drastically negating any chances of you attaining social mobility

All three of these are damaging to the psyche of our people and it makes other groups and even some of own "tired" of hearing about us and our issues. This will eventually lead to other groups feeling desensitized by what we go through in this wicked country which they already are.
