Big Shot Bob.

Doesn't feel like we have those guys anymore like Horry, Paxson, Kerr etc. Role players that could shoot and make plays in the clutch.

If you had a tight game with less than 2 minutes on the clock....errbody and they momma was like "WATCH OUT FOR HORRY!!!!" :sadcam::damn: Breh would still find a way to get open every damn time :russ:. Think he was on All The Smoke and it was a pretty good interview tbh. Good dude.

It doesn't feel like it anymore because any role player that overperforms especially in the playoffs ends up getting the bag of money thrown at them. After they get signed to massive contracts too much pressure gets put on them and they become disappointments trying to do too much and flame out.

Look at a player like OG Anonoby he's the perfect example of this. A very good 3 and D stoic defensive player who doesn't seem to get any pressure in big moments. But because you throw 200 million at a guy like that the fanbase gets disappointed no matter what he does.

Also let's you know how fine a line "dominance" is from disappointment.

Shaq and Kobe 3-peated and were considered "dominant" but only the middle title was light work.

Ring 1, down 15 in the 4th of G7 until Horry and Shaw saved them.
Ring 3, Divac bats the ball in any direction but Horry's and Lakers are down 3-1/probably lose the series.

Hell, when the Spurs beat them in '03, iirc series was tied 2-2 and Horry missed the game winner in game 5. Otherwise Lakers potentially 4-peat

Duncan blew a point blank tip-in at the end of regulation in game five to win the game but Horry bailed his ass out. We all know what happened eight years later though :shaq:

Pop should have kept Duncan in the game in Game 6 to get a rebound and there is no Game 7 :yeshrug:
