classic for its time, all the 50/G-Unit shoutouts throughout make it hard to revisit though

Some of this is so generic. My memories of this album are the only reason to listen.

The fundamentals are so strong, from Game's voice and delivery to the song concepts and production, but looking back it's like paper thin.

This was probably the last generic playboy thug album that was a success.

This was really fire to me back then, but it's still pretty strong. But back then, it felt like gospel lol

The Game is one of the artists that would've benefited from a Verzus. This album is undeniable.

Game made it the sense that he did what the other artists on the roster couldn't do, catch Dre's full attention. Dre wasn't really paying attention to this project either until he heard Dreams, then they started knocking tracks out. Then put him him with 50 to craft hooks and give the G-Unit shine, because he knew they was onto something. And 50 saw it too, which is why he jumped on it so quick and gave his all to it.

Game had presence, enthusiasm and sincerity you felt on this project, that was the aspect that couldn't be manufactured and a big part of the albums success and continued rep.

it wasn't until 50 came with those hooks/songs that the ball really got rolling.

but you're right. he had star quality and carried his weight, which is why he continued to thrive for a minute.

Right, this is apparent, 20 years later.

Compared to like a Lloyd Banks.

Certified classic

Besides the obvious hits I loved Don't Need Your Love , Runnin and Don't Worry (beat is crazy with the Mary J vocals). shyt like Put You On Game didn't age well for me though lol.
