Because most people know that Sacramento got robbed in 2002, and that there wasn't a shot in hell for any of the eastern conference teams to win.
Probably Phil Jackson’s greatest accomplishment as a coach. I truly believe anyone else would’ve folded in that situation.
The Chicago years had their challenges especially w/management but the team respected the internal heirarchy and had similar goals in mind(for the most part).
The second LA run was fairly similar.
But the LA 3 peat? Sheeit. Can’t name a championship winning duo as dysfunctional and high performing as Kobe and Shaq.

Lol what, that’s probably the most celebrated run in the 21at century. More than the Spurs, more than the Warriors, more than LeBron’s run.
The turmoil was reaching a boiling point and the dysfunction would hit a crescendo after '03, but God damn. Lakers from '99 - '10 truly was the greatest show on earth. Championships, beefs, scandals, broken records, drama, and all in the heart of Los Angeles.

That's cause all the good teams were out West. Probably the most lopsided the conferences have ever been in NBA history. The top 8 teams out West were probably all better than the Nets.
