Very good album but it was just another dope album in 96. Mightnt make my top 10 that year.

Didn't change the game in any meaningful way.

Couple of filler joints on there too.

Facts. Just one week later, It Was Written dropped and everybody forgotten about this album until 1998 when it was reissued due to the success of Hard Knock Life. In the words of Jay-Z himself, "didn't really appreciate it until the 2ND one came out"

Exactly. I like the album but he wants everyone to believe this is a masterpiece. Still a solid album coming out of that year.
