once pac and biggie died, who else was there but jay-z to hold down hip hop mainstream wise?

Eh. I dont look at dmx as someone whos wack lyrically. His first album a classic. Seco e album not my fav but others call it classic for the style shift into 99-00s.

X had great introspective lyrics. Dude wasnt dropping bars he was dropping emotion i cant failt him on that.

And then there was x was wack tho.

Meth coulda been a great but he just didnt take it. Hooks like cream. Bangers like bring da pain. Rnb crossover with all i need. How high another banger. The what. Shadowboxin. Method man the song.

I dont think he wanted to be a star like that thi. Dude seems content being a team player but he was one of the hotter rappers in nyc in 1997. The bad pr wu forever got conpleely changed that up tho.

Jay took biggies spot. Just slid right in

good points :ehh:

some of y'all nikkas don't read and THINK about the question bein' asked in the op sometimes :smh:

Percy Miller was underground then he shot to mainstream success. Mainstream wasn't fukkin with P, until he was undeniable. Thing is most didn't think Big and Pac were that nice when they were alive.

That doesn't make you nice! Master P had everybody checking for the NL Soldiers.....

Why pretend "purest" weren't shytting on Biggie and Pac when they were alive. The buying public and people in general loved them, just like they did P.

yeah, but you missin' my point. reread my original post :francis:
Your point is flawed. Master and DMX were both underground favorites neither are that good. X has a more extensive battling career, but he ain't really nice. he had energy and passion

i just was thinkin' bout this. really, who else was there that could spit like ya favorite underground mc and keep them on their toes but at the same time give the streets and clubs some shyt they could feel? :patrice:

P wasn't keeping mc's on their toes tho...but his marketing schemes and hood rawness certainly did...every street outside of ny was bumpin no limit....from a hip hop head standpoint I suffered greatly:francis:

y'all nikkas ain't readin' or either understandin' what i'm sayin' at all

reread the original op

p made music nikkas could feel but lyrically HOW he spit won't nothin' to sneeze at all. but with jay, it was

but i respect p's business savvy to utmost. p is on the rount mushmore of moguls in hip hop :wow:(but that ain't what this thread about:yeshrug:)

Nikka stop it. Biggie was hip hop royalty from the fukkin jump...only people that had somethin to say bout big was raekwon, the roots and the boot camp click...that's it. Biggie was admired by nas and method man...u talkin out ya ass. Purest didn't like biggies materialistic/mafioso content....but it had nothing to do with his hip hop ability. Big killed bout everybody on shared tracks. and pac was a str8 messenger...u way off base
