Watching this now. I never found Teyana Taylor to be bad till this tbh

Really?....this shyt did the opposite for me. Thought she was decent before but she looks weird as fukk on them cinema cameras. Them fillers got her looking like jigsaw. Also didn't care for her performance. Felt like she was overacting in every scene.

Overall I thought it was a decent movie but definitely not worth all the hype. The plot was just too ridiculous. Think Leo's daughter killed her performance though. Easily the standout of the film. She's gonna do big things.

I notice people get very angry or confused whenever films/tv/etc feature protagonists/main characters who aren't good at their roles. Couple years ago we saw this reaction to The Killer, which is largely about an assassin who fukks up. Leo's character is not a good revolutionary. He never was. And as he ages and fries his brain with drugs he only gets even more sloppy. So much of the film revolves around the idea of doing your part and then letting the next person - or generation - take the baton. Bob took that shyt as far as he could and then his daughter carried it from there.

There's also this weird, lazy brain thing people have been trained to think about when it comes to action that isn't resolved on screen. You need a scene to explain to you that Regina Hall's character gets arrested and never sees the light of day again? Same with Del Toro's character. Do we need a scene of a lawyer explaining that he's being hit with terrorism charges for aiding/abetting Bob? No.
Movie viewers have become lazy and want everything explained to them. it’s pathetic

Love this goddamn scene so much.
So did I. Sergio had his shyt straight. They were so much more organized than the French 75. When she called him 'Bob' I was like "what's up?" Lol. He has people on the inside doing work. When Leo gets cut loose he has that kind of weak "is this really happening" stride you see whenever some fukk up gets away with fukking up and just slides out and down the stairs to Sergio waiting with a 6 pack. Lol

Watched it again

The movie begins the first time you see Chase Infiniti. I think the execution & acting of some of the people prior to that point is lacking to varying degrees. When the subject matter is touchy and you’re not landing the plane artistically it draws more attention to whether or not the themes are being handled properly

Overall it was an enjoyable watch.

Yeah I'm going have to read the book. Sounds like PTA could've went harder on the political aspect but I guess that would've scared off the conservatives and non political types that only seem to feel some type way whenever the right is criticized.

YOU MUST DONT SPEND
MUCH TIME IN THE FILM ROOM

MUTHAfukkAS WERE COMING
INTO THE SINNERS THREAD
PROPPING THIS shyt UP

:hhh:

Shameful shyt

Sinners rated higher with critics, was more successful at the box office along with excellent feedback from audiences. I didn't get the hype for OBAA at all, but it all started to make sense when you understand how Coogler's deal with WB pissed off a lot of mfers in the industry.
