That's the entire point of the character. He's among the weakest of the named heroes but he's probably the most heroic of them.
He's one of the few heroes, like Saitama or Genos, that doesn't cower in the fear of overwhelming force and it's more poignant because he's not an anomaly of power or a cybernetic nuke in the shape of a human.
