Of course depending on where you live geographically .
But like here in Texas, everyone I know with 2 story house,including mine, either one part gets hot as f and it cools unevenly and it's hard to keep both levels cool without an insane electric bill. Especially now that it's 105 degrees EVERYDAY. If you turn your upstairs air off to conserve, it'll jump up to 89-90 degrees quickly. Especially if it's like 4pm-6pm
One story houses, even old ones are just easier to cool across the board.
