When you find your elders telling the same stories they are often having trouble remembering things and are grasping at the ones that stand out to feel some sort of control. I wish I could listen to my grandma tell the same handfull of embarrasing shyt about me as a kid right about now lol

Now I know premeditated boos :usure: Matta fact that reminds me of 1964 :ehh: New York City... Busta Rhymes was there-- I trieda told em this for Chris Rock. That boy ain't right... And from that day on I've had a love hate relationship with New York. You can't tell the truth if the truth ain't told again. That's a gem my grandmama taught me. And the moral of the story is, boo me again :ehh:

We’ll to be frank depending on how much attention you pay you might not even hear all of the story anyway, but I let my old folks tell me shyt over and over so I can more concretely remember the lessons.

I have a story telling ass co-worker. At the beginning of the shift she'll tell a story. Half through the shift, tell it again. Just before the end of shift, tell it another time. On the way out the door she'll tell it to the people just starting their shift.

It's odd. She'll tell it the exact same too, emphasis and inflection on the same words. Same tone. It's almost like it's rehearsed, like a play. They go over the same monologue.

Do they not be remembering that they done told you this story 17 times before :why:

I have friends over 80 and they always apologize when they think they’ve repeated something. I actually notice my friends between 65-75 also repeating stories, but they aren’t aware unless I tell them.

This is why folks play crosswords, or learn new things as they age to keep they’re mind sharp. If it’s early onset dementia then I don’t know if can be delayed.
