One year ago today, Kendrick Lamar released ‘Not Like Us.’ How do you feel about it now?

It was 16 years overdue if we're being honest. Kendrick HAD to put that song out. It saved hip hop. Drake and some other rappers were literally killing hip hop with their presence. Kendrick still signed to the label but that Lucy song from TPAB makes sense when we look at the situation. Signed a deal with the devil for real. Hope he can leave UMG because really, he won the battle but him and Drake are on the same boat signed to Lucy in terms of being an artist to signed to a label. Hate to say it.

So. Cal
A shytty, simple song reflecting our collective morass. The bar is in hell.
This. Song wouldnt even hold up in the golden era of the 90s early 2000s. It only got its shine because rap is low and this song had decent quality to it. Beat sucks, lyrics ok. Just a bunch of brain dead weirdos hyping it up. And yes, thats majority of society today.

In an election year, the conscious mc of the era spending a whole year putting out songs and wearing special costumes cause he’s in a beef with another rapper that just feels a bit underwhelming.
