Post 2006, it gotta be M$. Damn near putting out non big 3rd party companies outta business due to hyper inflated budgets and killing anything innovative from Japan. Hence why JRPGs and Platformers are scarce these past 10 years. Sony is almost as guilty as well with the lack of good Japanese games post-PS2 era and the stanbase that are annoying like Eminem stans.

Actually I rescind my previous statement. SEGA dropped a few gems last gen.

These games were straight piff. None of these are games you could dismiss.

Vanquish is one of the best TPS last gen, Bayonetta damn near came out of nowhere and became a classic, Sonic Generations is the best modern sonic game out, and VC is an amazing SJRPG.
