i really want to finish my bachelors but to finish it at the school i attended previously is just too expensive, and possibly a lot harder. the reason i dont want it to be very challenging is because i work a lot, and because im kind of burned out on school. i have over 140 total college credits but no degree since they are in different areas.

this guy at my job said he found an online university that you can pay as little as $100 a month to take classes, but you cant get your degree until you have paid tuition in full. its also self paced. my company will reimburse me for completed college courses but i have to put the money up front. i think i have around 17k left that they will pay for. i have around 90 credits towatd a bachelor, and around 50 toward a computer networking associates. id rather finish the associates but its changed so much since i last took classes in that i would allmost be starting over.

i just want the stupid piece of paper for more job opportunities, obviously. do you guys think its a good idea to go ahead and use an online university ? the one im looking at is nationally accredited by DEAC and recognized by the department of education and CHEA.

the downside is not all universities will accept this if i wanted to transfer in for a masters. as far as jobs its not an issue, which is the point i guess.

is anyone taking classes from one now or already graduated from one ????

Nobody will consider your online degree seriously when it comes to jobs, so i don't see the point of doing it, and you have to compete with people who have real diplomas and looking for jobs too, so your options will be very limited.

proof ? why wouldnt it be taken seriously when its the same classes and same books ? more and more schools are doing distance learning as its the way things are headed. people do everything online.

What type of online university are you talking about? Are you talking about

A) A online university that's associated with a regular accredited university ( Syracuse, USC, Indiana, University of Florida)

Or

B) A for profit online university ( Kaplan, University of Phoenix, ITT tech) different schools that offer different results.

University of Maryland University College. It's accredited and the programs are excellent. I finished up my bachelors in MIS there.
Pretty much this and a few other not-for-profit, state university affiliated schools are your only bet.
Your best interest is in a local junior/community college and/or a local state school. If you want the degree to be taken seriously and you want to maximize your potential learning.
