its worse
I feel you. I felt the same way but its really a decent school. Networking and career opportunities are abundant especially being close to DC.Im a terrapin so I look at UMUC like
but I have seen people have some sort of career out of there, especially coupled with work experience
only way you enroll in an online college is if you enroll at an actual university/college(with good reputation) that offers online classes. Employers wont be able to tell the difference as the schools name will be on your diploma.i really want to finish my bachelors but to finish it at the school i attended previously is just too expensive, and possibly a lot harder. the reason i dont want it to be very challenging is because i work a lot, and because im kind of burned out on school. i have over 140 total college credits but no degree since they are in different areas.
this guy at my job said he found an online university that you can pay as little as $100 a month to take classes, but you cant get your degree until you have paid tuition in full. its also self paced. my company will reimburse me for completed college courses but i have to put the money up front. i think i have around 17k left that they will pay for. i have around 90 credits towatd a bachelor, and around 50 toward a computer networking associates. id rather finish the associates but its changed so much since i last took classes in that i would allmost be starting over.
i just want the stupid piece of paper for more job opportunities, obviously. do you guys think its a good idea to go ahead and use an online university ? the one im looking at is nationally accredited by DEAC and recognized by the department of education and CHEA.
the downside is not all universities will accept this if i wanted to transfer in for a masters. as far as jobs its not an issue, which is the point i guess.
is anyone taking classes from one now or already graduated from one ????
University of Maryland University College. It's accredited and the programs are excellent. I finished up my bachelors in MIS there.

doooont do it, trust me I have done hiring before breh....only plausible reasoning is if you are just doing it for the knowledge and then proceeding with certsITT was literally defrauding the government.
Take free courses from havard and then purchase your diplomai really want to finish my bachelors but to finish it at the school i attended previously is just too expensive, and possibly a lot harder. the reason i dont want it to be very challenging is because i work a lot, and because im kind of burned out on school. i have over 140 total college credits but no degree since they are in different areas.

Yeah for the price it's awesome. You also don't have to live in the area which is good and it attracts a lot of military folks. A masters in MIS there was like $20k for the 2 years. I didn't think that was bad at al in comparison to other programs I saw.Yeah umuc is great if you live in the DMV area. It's great because lots of employers have employees who completed their bachelors or masters at UMUC, while working.
I know my VP and director and manager have masters from UMUC. I'm thinking about it too.
My cuzzos graduated from George Washington online, shyt was like 8,000 a semester, likewise my other cuzzo goes to John hopkins online program for like 7,000 a semester. Not worth it in my opinion while Umuc is like 3,000.

proof ? why wouldnt it be taken seriously when its the same classes and same books ? more and more schools are doing distance learning as its the way things are headed. people do everything online.
