Has mainstream America lost interest in hip hop?
Will this prevent new rappers from putting out albums and singles?

The 3 songs:
-Monster by Eminem
-Show Me by Kid Ink
-White Walls by Macklemore

charts have always been like this. At the end of the day people want to hear songs about something worthwhile.

I see what you saying but those rappers you named only have street singles out right now. Things gonna pick up in a few months when more albums start dropping

Outside of Drake the rest of those cats dropped albums over 6 months ago. There hasn't been one major label album yet this year, things should start to heat up soon hopefully.

iTunes has always been like that, even during the most popular times in hip hop. EDM is really popular right now too and I'm sure there's only about 3-4 of those in the top 50.

i thought for sure that labels would take the obvious cue from the runaway success of kendrick lamar, and realize that hip hop fans as a whole were weary of the one dimensional club swag rapper, and were interested in artists who had something to say. I guess I was wrong. Execs are committed to stupid rap, against all odds.

And either hip hop fans are pirating or the real fans will buy physicals or at least the whole album digitally

when Kendrick Lamar has top 10 billboard hits (singles) then labels MAY pay attention.

Counting features I saw about 15 rappers or perhaps more in the top 50 on billboard.

Rappers just haven't released any new shyt, observe the top 50 rap songs and you'll see. Just a wild guess but id say that about 10 of the top 50 rap songs were released in the past 6 months, the rest is older. The real question is if rappers who are coming out are having their singles left in the bushes, I can't find anything supporting that. Cats like YG and Rich Homie were top 20 and shyt..
