I'm reading a post about Lebron being moody and an only child. I'm an only child myself and it was hard for me because my mom was overbearing and controlling and her parenting technique was high pressuring. My dad was introverted, passive, laid back and he let her wear the pants. She even coordinate the home repairs and car repairs. She is more extroverted than my father.
I got more of my dad's personality because I'm laid back, quiet and don't need a lot of attention. I had to develop my social skills more when I got older. I always wish I had a bigger family. I also don't think I was made to be an only child but that wasn't my choice. It is harder being an only child because u have to learn a lot on your own. And with my family, we aren't close or unconditionally loving like a family should be. And my mom's siblings are feeling some type of way about her and she isn't speaking to some of them because of inheritance and other issues. My dad side is messed up too and my dad's mother didn't like my mom. So growing up wasn't good for me when it comes to having a loving and supportive family.
Anyway, do any of y'all notice only children having any issues? Anything that seems different or off about them? I did read that some only kids have issues being spoiled, socially awkward, unable to share, lack conflict management skills, and may feel pressured to provide their family everything. Like my two cousins (male and female)...one said that the older brother has the smarts and the younger sister has the looks. Me being the only child could make me feel a failure if I don't have very good looks or very high intelligence.
What do y'all notice about only kids that may be different from kids with siblings.
