Webforums are already an older form of communication. Not only that, but members voluntarily stop posting, pass away, get banned, etc.. You can't expect people to only want to hear from the same handful of posters all the time. Thecoli will get stale that way. It isn't normal for a forum to be locked from registration for half it's lifespan or for people to want to keep it that way to gatekeep.
You take the good with the bad. This place needs new blood. If you keep registration closed, this forum will slowly die in the vine. That is what was happening before. With the update, the site feels... Revitalized. Before that, topics started getting stale as hell with the same gimmick posters driving the most discussion with the same tired topics.
Mods, don't listen to these whiners. If you catch any racists and trolls, ban them individually. But some of you nikkas need to stop acting like hos. Constantly tagging mods begging people to be banned because of one dumb ass opinion or some bullshyt you strongly disagree with sometimes.

The new posters have not been that bad so far and the ones who are, are getting banned or bushed.
