this is plainly the dumbest approach possible to corrective action. individual "do not use their likeness" is reactive and after the fact - how many thousands of MLK videos could've been churned out before this request even gets submitted? what's stopping people from using coretta or another person from the estate? are they responsible for the results of their depiction the same way social media platforms are obligated to collaborate with investigations and law enforcement?

openai thought long and hard about protecting public / historical figures and chose to categorically not give a fukk. this isn't a US only thing either - its going to be dramatically worse elsewhere

you can't predict people's actions; that's why its reactive and after the fact
people choosing to make MLK videos is random as fukk
the law and regulations will always play catch-up in these situations because it's unprecedented territory
you didn't even have a suggestion of what to do
so imagine actually having to implement one
the MLK ban is just a quick reaction till they find a more concrete solution

so they should ban that boondocks episode too
this is a slippery slope of censorship
I don't remember MLK saying ignorant shyt in that. Plus even if they ban it from whatever streaming service the DVDs are out there and you could easily find that episode online

That wasn't bad, really. The ignorant shyt in the AI videos was him talking shyt on Malcolm and talking about styling on people
talking about styling on people
is worst than a 2 min rant of him calling people nyggas :patrice:
most of the video are just goofy because Sora is censored from certain types of hate speech

Yes. It's even explained in that clip his feelings on that word.
