you aren't lying![]()
Yeah, which is why I don't understand why everyone was so hard on her. She's ugly but she serves her purpose.

you coldblooded
People are hard on because being a model means being the most attractive of that race I guess, and some people feel she represents black women poorly![]()
Black models have a rough time getting work, she's paving the way for a lot of women to follow in her path, her family escaped the South Sudan during the civil war and was the first woman that didn't have Caucasian features in any form that became a high fashion model. I commend her.
Alek Wek and Lupita are the punching bags for black insecurities in regards to beauty in a non Eurocentric context.
Truth is, mot black women from the motherland be looking like that. Black Americans in general have a unique appearance to the rest of the world due to racial admixture (thanks to @Poitier this is my favorite word now) and exposure to other races and how their swag rubs off on us. Us Africans...we just look different.
And Nikki, you right...black models have hard time finding work in the industry cause it's so white and superficial. As well, from observing it here in NYC it's so fake...
I've had women tell me that I should model...damn near all the work for black male models here in NYC involves nudity or gay shyzz that I'm not feeling at all.
Look at how many of these runway shows go on that have lineups that look like a hitler youth convention. Peppered with two or three token black and asian models that usually get the loudest applause.
So yeah, I'm a fan of Alek Wek. You go girl.

Nonsense@ bolded.
Studies shown that AA's dont have that much white admixture. They're no more unique than blacks from Africa,Brazil or Caribbean.
You can find a Nigerian that easily resembles an AA. Africa is one big Continent and very diverse you can find many that resemble AA's....
And please most black women from the motherland do not look like Alek Wek. PLEASE!!!! If that was the case I wouldnt find African women attractive at all and I seen some banging chocolate skinned sistas from the continent(Nigeria/Ethiopia/Ghana/Senegal).
And AA's don't even descend from Lupitos or Alek Weks group of people but mainly West/Central Africans...[DOUBLEPOST=1397415861][/DOUBLEPOST]Again Alek Wek does not represent African beauty. She only represents Dinka beauty beauty.
If anything there is no true representation of African beauty since Africa is so diverse in looks.
1)They're
2): They're females that really do have the mindset ingrained that dark=masculine, light=feminine
