I never finished it, I don't even remember how far in it I got back in the 90s. I'd like if they remade this game honestly. It'd probably be better if it was made with Rebirth's battle system.

Up there with my favorites, alongside 6 and 7. Loved it initially but didn’t think to actually dive into the junction system until I was almost finished. Loved the art direction, the characters, the summons/GF’s, the weapons, and the boss’s. Even the mini games were fun or funny. Only people that dislike it were probably too young, too lazy, or too impatient for the junction system lol.

Probably the most aesthetically pleasing FF to me. That was a jewel in the RPG golden era.

I liked 8. I played it before 7. The draw system was a bit tedious at times, but it did allow for you to max out your stats pretty fast. With that being said, as much as I liked it, once I got to disc 4, the story lost me. :dwillhuh:

For some reason I just never finished it, but it wasn’t because I didn’t like it. If anything the story was a little confusing to me but that’s all I remember.

The story makes absolutely no sense while at the same time manages to be insanely entertaining.

Can't believe this dropped at the same day as the SEGA Dreamcast. 9/9/99 forever.

This aint like FFVII at all. It was just....overdone in the graphics department and the battle system was weak. The story....let's not even go there. A lot of forgettable characters.

There is a reason why they rushed FFIX before the Ps1 era was done, and that game reverted back to FFVII style controls with a simpler battle system.

Not sure what you mean by the graphics, the game looked incredible at the time. It has worse characters than 6 and 7 but by Final Fantasy standards the cast is pretty standard. Personally I liked that Squall was "I don't give a fukk" a$$hole, what other game has a lead like him?

What it did well, it did really well. The soundtrack, world and cutscenes are all AAA tier.

My main issue with the game is stuff like walking around in circles constantly in the prison section.
