Because they have something the rest of our culture doesnt....disposable income. When you worth 40 BILLION you can take a million and invest it, but when you only pulling in 40 grand a year (which is more than the average yearly salary) you can't invest shyt.

Back to the thread though I agree with the person who said that a nikka gonna get the team, shyt I wouldn't be surprised if Ellison teamed up with a nikka who would hold about a 20-30% stake to make his pitch look even better. You know the NBA wants to put a bow on this with a Black dude standing up there at the end.

Not only that, but the ones who are self-made, they started a company & built it from the ground up. So yeah, they've built it up enough to have disposable income. But pulling in only $40K a year & not being able to invest is false. When I was making that a few years ago & still as able to invest in the market. Granted, it was smaller purchases but I disciplined myself to automatically slide money over to my brokerage account & then invest from there. I got in with Ford when it was trading at like $5 a share, brought Sirius XM for shyts & giggles when it was literally pennies and sold it when it reached past $5/share, rode GeoEye up & down before it was brought out, so on & so forth. You start off small & invest right, you'll get something out of it & then you reinvest.

I was in the field. It takes more than the willingness to take calculated risk.

Scared money don't make no money. Putting it into savings or a CD won't do me no better when wanting to build wealth. Now I'm reinvesting into other assets like real estate....I even see franchising on the horizon.

You in the minority homie. How old are you? How many children do you have? Do you have a car payment? A rent payment or motgage? 95% of people making 40k a year aren't going to be able to "take a chance" with their money.
