Oracle made a request late last month to broaden its case against Android. Now, claiming that 'Android has now irreversibly destroyed Java's fundamental value proposition as a potential mobile device operating system,' Oracle on Wednesday filed a supplemental complaint in San Francisco district court that encompasses the six Android versions that have come out since Oracle originally filed its case back in 2010: Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat and Lollipop.

The most pathetic thing was that the supreme Court rejected to hear it. One of the most important questions in tech and these old fakkits dont even want to hear it. :damn:

Google is a convenient scapegoat for the fact that Java is notorious for running like sh*t on all platforms. and Google was able to make a profitable subset of the language that Oracle in no way profits from.

it's the tech worlds version of, "you made it a hot line, i made it a hot song".

The thing is from what I gather Java and all the optimizations it's had over the years
make it blazing fast on PC. This is what I hear from java dev's all the time (I might be biased as
well because Java is my main programming language :mjpls: )

Destroyed as in oversaturated, due to everyone trying to make apps, and Android having terrible quality control?

Destroyed as in Oracle doesn't have their hands in Google's pockets (yet).

Java seems to be as prevalent as its been the past 10 - 15 years

This is a patent issue I take it?

Nah, it's a copyright issue
