Maaaaaaaaaaan I hate that we didn't have a 12 team playoff when them prime Boise, TCU, Utah teams wanted the smoke. 2015-16 Houston too. Couple of Fickel Cincy teams that didn't make the playoff. Those were worthy G5 teams that proved it on the field.

That 2017 UCF team too.

How anybody can watch this Oregon team the past few seasons, Then watch how Indiana went into Autzen and beat them and then beat Ohio State for the B1G Title and still think they aren't legit blows my mind....
I cant speak for OSU..but I think we relied on the we at Autzen so it's an automatic W. I dont think we understood the assignment. Not knocking them tho.. they tough as nails. But I wanted this side of the bracket for that fade again more than anything.

You would need a John Calipari/Marcus Camby 96 UMass equivalent for a mid major football team to ever make sense in the playoffs

That team didn’t feel like a mid major. I legit thought UMass was a big program during the Calipari/Camby years

its going to be harder for G5s because of the transfer portal and NIL

A Marcus Camby type of player would transfer to a big school after a few seasons

Boise had one last year in Jeanty but they still got blown out when they played in the playoffs

My suggestion, 12 best teams. Then 4 group of 5 teams. Let them play down to 1, and that 1 team gets an at large bid to the playoff.

Something similar to that? :manny:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I don't think people realize what's going on :mjlol: JMU and Tulane were set up.

1. Tulane got blown out by Ol Miss earlier this year and got blown out again by the exact same score.
2. JMU got the worst possible draw playing at Oregon.

The committee did this on purpose because I think eventually the group of 5 schools will be completely shut out of the CFP. There will be super conferences led by the Big 10 and SEC. They've been plotting this for years. But the ACC has been fukking up in because schools like Clemson, FSU, and even Va Tech haven't been good either for a long time or consistently good.
Notre Dame sees this which is why they fought to have a guaranteed spot so long as they finish in the top 12. The sad part is if the Big 10 and SEC hadn't pillaged other conferences it could've been:

Big 10
SEC
ACC
Big 12
Pac 10
Notre Dame*

The Big 10 and SEC would get 4 teams in, the other schools would get at least 2 teams in and if Notre Dame was good they would get in. For a 16 team playoff Or a 12 team playoff with each conference getting at least 2 teams in. But the Big 12 lost their 3 most popular teams and the Pac 12 was destroyed.

But at the end of the day, there's 64 group of 5 programs and 74 FBS power programs. With the playoffs, system, evolving the group of 5 need to just start their own thing. And that's what the media and power conferences are plotting.

You would need a G5 school willing to spend 20-30M on a roster for it to make sense

it's not going to happen. the group of 5 are going to get shut out. Don't be surprised if the top 25 gets reduced to a top 20 or top 16 to ensure no group of 5 school is ever ranked.
