Oregon never recruited the south, hawaii, California, zona and Oregon and Washington are where they ate.

Under chip they were able to get the deanthonys etc. And as well stud 4 stars from cali

Now Jim Mora , sonny dykes, and usc are getting even the good leftovers because frost and helfrich are pathetic

True,

But they have always recruited TEXAS ( atleast under Chip) thats where LaMicheal James and Darron Thomas are from.

Texas and Cali are thier best bets to get Athletes.

But they will always have a hard time stealing from the USC's and the Texas and A&M's of the world.

Chip isn't there to flip a DeAnthony Thomas from USC anymore.

Thats a problem.

I take it you have never been to Eugene, Oregon.

DeAnthony was a huge surprise and he was the exception. It's not like we had our pick of Cali 5-stars, breh.

I used deanthony as a example as he was a 5 star. But the kenjon barners, tounais etc were stud 4 stars Oregon were able to reign in

I love people like you trying to tell me about Oregon recruiting :dead:. Some SC fan was pulling the same ish last night.

Breh, I've watched every game since 07 probably, and followed the team's recruiting since 09. I'm from Oregon. I went to the school.

:camby: with this bullshyt narrative you're pushing

Just for perspective, I think the program has had like five 5-star recruits ever. Haloti Ngata (I think), Jonathan Stewart, DAT, Canton Kaumatule, and Cam Colvin.

I know they ain't really shyt...but does Oregon basketball matter? Like does the community/alumni feel they're on the way up?

I hate that court design
I think the program lost something when they moved into the new arena. Don't get me wrong, it's nice as fukk. Like, so nice that major concerts come through Eugene because of it. But I think the team lost something when they moved in there. I graduated in 2012, and the arena was usually pretty empty for games.

I can't really speak for the whole community, but they've brought in some real pieces of shyt the past couple of years. Three players were accused of gang raping a female student a couple of years ago, and the university just settled with her for $800,000. One of the guys came from Providence (I think?) and he had been booted out of that school for sexual assault before being brought in at Oregon.

Behind the scenes with Oregon Ducks equipment managers

The cool factor associated with all of Oregon's gear isn't lost on its potential g gamesfuture. Almost all recruits get an equipment room tour from Farr, even though making custom jerseys or giving them anything has long been off the table. "They ask me what special Jordans we are going to get next year," Farr says.

Mariota's favorite shoe was the special makeup of the Air Jordan III's that were given out a couple of years ago. The shoe was so rare and so desired that shoe reseller Flight Club in New York currently lists a pair for sale for $6,500.

Continue to pretend like Nike doesn't play a huge roll with Oregon's recruits.

I've been watching Oregon games since '94. I've witnessed the transition from a mediocre team to a powerhouse.

10 years ago Oregon lived off of 2 and 3 star players. Now it's 3-4 with occasional 5. Location hurts them playing in Eugene I admit that. Without Nikes marketing they really are Oregon State.

How the HELL Oregon couldn't recruit a legit QB to take over after Mariota left? Like they thought he was going to be there forever or something.
like top 5 picks in the draft come along every year or something

Chip Kelly would be the BEST thing that would happen to the U since Jimmy Johnson.

You saw what he did at Oregeon WITHOUT a recruiting advantage.

Imagine what he would do with all that Florida SPEED??

Don't let him being a shytty NFL coach cloud your judgment.
What black top recruit is gonna play for Chip KKKelly at the U?

I know who you are referring to and even though he's not from the area he's done his research and knows the Ducks backstory. I have no problems with him.

I only have issues with the new Duck fans. The ones who have liked them for 3-4 years. Not just on here but in real life. Kids from California, Illinois, Tennessee, etc... They are only fans because of the hype machine and marketing that Nike rolled out for Oregon. They couldn't tell you who Joey Harrington is, Ontario Smith, who the coach was before Chip Kelly and certainly not who was before Mike Bellotti. They don't know anything about Mac Court or Hayward Field.

Yes, Autzen is an amazing place to watch a football game and the crowds are great. It hasn't always been that way. Oregon/Nike has done a great job of erasing their less then impressive football history. There really isn't any substance to their program. Take away Nike and all you have is Oregon State.

As someone who grew up in Oregon and once cheered for Oregon last night was a game I along with many people on the west coast have been waiting for. The loud brashness, hey everyone pay attention to me attitude, might finally be getting a reality check.

I assume you went to school there. No issues with anyone who went to school there. It's where you got an education. You should be proud and cheer for them.

this is with every sport tho. it doesn't bother me if someone doesn't know the history or abandon them when the ship starts to rock as i'm gonna keep supporting them regardless because of pride:yeshrug:

it is funny when i visit the PNW and see a lot of oregon fans and they tell me they didn't go to the school or can't name 1 player:heh: all i can do is laugh it off.
