My Pops Forever RIP
Even a broken clock is right twice a day

he's right

he's old, he's a republican, 98% of the time I wanna smack his face off, but he is right on this one. jay-z and kanye being his primary examples is a little funny, but they too are careless with the message, not as careless as others but still...

sidenote: beyonce is so fukkin corny, i can't stand that chick. she knows her influence, she isn't an idiot, how you gonna make porn music when u know every little girl idolizes you? smh

As opposed to the airhead music she's been making all the way up to now?

It's like when people shytted on Janet Jackson for the Janet. album cover and The Velvet Rope. Her response was "I had parents come up to me saying 'Whatever happened to Lets Wait Awhile?' I told em 'I'm 30. How long do you want me to wait?'"

If I were to ask Bill for $1000 he would tell me there are government programs that help the poor. That is the problem with people like him.

Use Bill O'Reily as a conduit for making large-scale social critiques about African-Americans brehs. We'll keep running with the superficial argument that the supposed imagery on television is the primary cause of urban plight instead of an affirmation of what poor people see in their neighborhoods everyday or the messages they are predisposed to being drawn to, and that human capital and social resources aren't the greatest indicators of educational attainment and upward mobility. Then we'll act like the fact that suburban kids don't suffer from the same plights while consuming the music at the same rate isn't a clear indicator that blaming music for the circumstances of people of color is probably not a winning argument. Anyone who said he is right needs to go take a long look at himself in the mirror and go take some sociology courses afterwards. :camby:
fam the whole point is that the music is nothing but an cosign to the lifestyle the black kids really live. Thats why it effects us more than them.

but black kids in the suburbs try to live out the music too and end up in some bad situations as well.
if you only follow the dude "that looks like you" you have no reasoning skills and may have been influenced improperly.

it's not a cut and dry situation. But living out entertainment is automatic fail at a certain point especially if you can't understand the messages and see that there is no message.

yall sound worse than the white dudes that expect athletes to be role models and ignore basic economics and think other professions should be paid more when scarcity of talent is what pays. More people can be teachers than a pro athlete.

The same man who chided PEPSI for doing business with LUDACRIS

but yet ignored thier marketing campaign with the Druged out zombie OZZY OSBOURNE

o reilly might be right in this commentary but he is the WRONG dude to speak

he is a right wing bigot spokesperson for cowardly insecure white men

I think everyone is focusing in on the fact that they are not 'gangstas' when this is just typical grumpy old white man way of saying the n-bomb with out saying the word itself. They know what he means though. Anyone who is agreeing with his message on any level is missing the actual point.

Everyone in here needs to stop with the 'kids dont need to hear that' because it is the job of the parent to stop it, not of a media personality or a censorship of any type. In addition, every muhfukka on here was listening to rap at a young age and a lot of us are successful people who are productive members of society. If you are not taught right from wrong or have any sense then you aren't going to be shyt. Rap doesn't make that happen.

This is a larger issue w/ black people in this country. We dont think we can learn from others who are white, asian, etc...
I see that in business forums etc...

Its the reality we live in though. Hood antics are glorified in rap, and its our kids living it.

Look at this vid from a few years ago...they named a crew in the BD's "Dipset" and doing the Blood sign...there aint no damn Bloods in Chicago...where do you think that came from?

Maybe it comes from the black p stones, a chicago based gang, having a foot hold in Los Angeles that claim blood since the 80s?

Dipset fam? and then they do the blood sign?
BDs arent Stones...everyone in my fam that is in a gang is BD...has nothing to do w/ tones. Stones in Chicago call each other Moe.

I think you are missing my point. The influence came from street/gang culture that didn't stem from Hip Hop that has gone back and forth from areas like Chicago/LA. Them tacking on a rap crew onto it doesn't mean Hip Hop is the actual source. Dip Set was claiming 'Blood' which is obviously a Los Angeles thing but it developed independent of 'Hip Hop'

Why would we worry about how white people perceive what we're doing?
because they kill us based on these presumptions

And we are better than these images project anyway.

We should change our public projections for ourselves though, the youth eat it up at an alarming rate
