Being from the south and me being biased I wouldn't argue this. Their ability to make amazing music from scratch with hardly any samples and live instruments always touched my soul and hit closer to home. You can hear the funk, blues, and jazz influence throughout their disco. shyt just embodies black music. They aren't mentioned enough IMO.
