Original Wii was backwards compatible with GameCube games? :dwillhuh:

So last night I was on twitch watching some guy do a speed run of Mario Sunshine (never played it ) and he tells me he's playing it on Wii. Then when I ask him if he's playing on a modded wii, he proceeds to tell me its the regular backwards compatible one

Did yall know.this?

It has Gamecube controller ports on it doesn't it? Only the ones made before 2011 though.

That's the only reason I never got rid of my wii. I got some fire GameCube games still. Only Nintendo lets you use peripherals 2 gens old. Even a wii u with the wii library is a good look.and yeah how the heck do you not know this. It has 4 GameCube controller ports and 2 gamecube memory card slots

The Zelda games, eternal darkness, the resident evil games, metal gear solid, star fox, custom robo, smash bros, Star Wars games, Mario games, and a couple others.

People bought that? I heard it didn't even have any internet connectivity at all either. You can get a wii for like $100 now. That small red wii came out at the end of the wii life cycle. I didn't think anybody really had that thing.
