What makes a Modded Wii so special?I knew this but never had a gc or it's games. Unless it's a modded wii thenstatus. Mine broke tho

Just lets you play downloaded games off an external hard drive. Like any other mod system. I know the original xbox was a big mod system.

So last night I was on twitch watching some guy do a speed run of Mario Sunshine (never played it) and he tells me he's playing it on Wii. Then when I ask him if he's playing on a modded wii, he proceeds to tell me its the regular backwards compatible one

Yeah. We would use the gamecube controllers to play the wii version of smashbros and dokapon kingdom.
For 200 bucks you got a new system AND the old one.
Trade in your gamecube... get a discount on the new nintendo system thats also a gamecube
Use the three extra gamecube controllers you already have to play 4 player games...
For 200 bucks you got a new system, your old system back, and could hop right into 4p vs on the new Mario Kart while the other companies wanted 350 and 400 bucks for 1 controller and no game.

I've got a Terrabyte of just Wii games.

You also get the entire virtual console library, every emulated console, and downloadable only games.
Also, I can play emulators with the wiimote. Certain old games can even be set up for motion controls. I can swing the wiimote to use the sword in zelda 1 on nes
Classic controller is set up like an SNES controller, so it feels correct playing old school stuff like Chrono Trigger or F-Zero.
It'll also let you play movies and dvds, and attach harddrives straight to the usb ports in back once its modded.
The Wii got me so much p*ssy in college...
ME: "Hey, this party is winding down... I think I'm gonna go home and start up the wii"
HER: "Ooh... you have a wii? Those things look so fun. I want to try one..."
ME: "Well... I don't stay too far from here..."
Modded Wii has a music player... so soon as I let her get her heartrate going playing Wii Tennis and I'm behind her helping her adjust her swing, I can exit out of game and pop on that Nate Dogg playlist.
ME: "Looks like we still partying girl... come chill with me on the bed..."

Custom robo is a beast. Most people don't know about it.
If you can, find Gotcha Force and Cubeavore for gamecube.
Those are some other ones people have never even heard of that are 10/10 right up there with double dash.

Now? I don't know.
A Wii was 200 new when they first came out... plus like $50 - $100 to mod it. But, that 100 bucks is just the cost of 2 games. For the cost of 2 games I get all the games... uh, yeah sign me up.
You can fnd someone to mod it (or sell you one modded) on craigslist. It can't possibally run you more than $300 total... cause thats near what it was 10 years ago. Maybe 100 or 200... I'd guess.
(thats for the original wii...I don't have a Wii U)
