I remember his brief comeback in 2009. It was amazing. That match at Mania and his performance in that tag match on RAW made me go "HE'S BACK! " Jericho was the perfect guy he could work with at the time.

Reportedly that was done on purpose. Batista failed when they tried their hardest to push him. Off the top of my head I can't think of a "superstar" who returned after a long layoff, get a push and fail like this...but Batista ain't that great anyway so it's not a surprise to me
