WWE star Randy Orton would likely be requiring neck surgery which would keep him out of action for an even longer period of time. It should be noted that in the original report Meltzer only speculated that Orton might need neck surgery, and never reported it as fact.
On an episode of Ric Flair’s WOOOOO Nation! podcast, recorded shortly after Orton went down with his shoulder injury, Flair also claimed that Orton would be in need of neck surgery which could keep him out of action an additional 3-6 months.
Orton responded to a fan on Instagram who asked about his current injury status, and you can view it in the photo below:

As noted, Randy Orton responded to a fan on Instagram last week and denied reports of him needing neck surgery.
According to F4WOnline.com, Orton met with doctors sometime in the last week and was informed he would not be needing neck surgery at this time, but he is still rehabbing a shoulder injury which initially sidelined him.
As for Orton’s WWE ring return, the updated word is that he is not a lock for WrestleMania 32 on April 3rd, but WWE officials are hoping to have him back in the ring sometime between mid-March and May.
