My parents raised me with living with the consequences of ur actions and owning up to it. Honestly as much as people talk about the “culture” and “doing better”, if folks honestly would treat folks the way they need to be treated, it would deter a lot more folks from that life. Do you have children? There's no handbook on how to raise children. You can do the absolute best, instill the correct morals, values, right and wrong, honesty, good life, well off, and your kids still turn out being POS. That's how you can have 2 children grow up in the same household, raised under the same guidance, and one becomes top of the class, and the other a delinquent.

Matter of fact, if you're older than a teenager, as a teenager how much ish did you do that your parents told you not to, instilled in you not to, to your why, but you rebelled against anyway? Now how much of those things, had you been caught had the high potential of being worst-case? All it really takes is one bad decision.

I've heard O talk to young street dudes. He always tell them they don't need to do it, cause they're gonna have to face the consequences one day. He told one dude before "you're an adult now, so none of that ish in your past even matters any more. Now it's up to you."

People are who they are. 9 times out of 10 whatever your father was, that's what you'll grow up to be.. That street shyt is literally in ya blood if ya pops was, thats where he came from

Father was absent and my mother busted her ass to keep me out of trouble. Had me playing sports and everything, once I turned 13 I didn't give a damn about shyt she was talking. Started running the streets selling drugs, carrying pistols all the dumb shyt. At 14 she told me straight up "get your shyt together or get the fukk out". Ar that point she wasn't putting me out she was allowing me to make a decision and I choose to bounce. At 16 she told me she was moving from Los Angeles to Maryland because she had to get me out of there. I had my own apartment, car etc so I stayed. Not less than a year later I got locked up and the judge looked at my rap sheet and said "sir you may fukk off" and sent me to the pen as an adult at 17 years old.

Moral of the story is that children will make their own decisions, I have five children four of them all graduated from high school, the other graduated Job Corp. My oldest is graduating college this year, youngest is graduating high school, second youngest is in his first year of college...the other two are fukk ups ‍. shyt is what it is, at a certain age our children become young adults and then adults and it's at that time that they make their own decisions. You can attempt to blame the parent all you want but at the end of they day it's the child's decision on what path they choose.

I think it's more environmental, or better who/what you grew up around, more so than it being intrinsic or inherited. If your kids grew up in Whitfield or Ben Avon in a household full of strict scholars I think it's less likely that they'd take to the streets, regardless of who their dad is, than if they grew up in the streets of Philly with a hood-famous dad known for being wild and having to live up to all that comes with that. Humans adapt to their environments, word to Marcos Pantoja, it's in our DNA for survival purposes.
