man....this thread made me realize how much 40 was apart of my childhood....Sprinkle Me is my earliest memory of loving a rap song and Hope I Dont Go Back, Things Will Never Change, Here We Go from Mystikal album were some of the first songs I remember learning by heart....i never really think of him as one my favorites but he clearly should be somewhere on my list :jbhmm:

I mean there are a lot of songs that can be listed. big Ballin wit my homies > a lot of songs listed here, as is “behind gates” with ice cube or automatic w/fabolous. I just listed possible winners from his catalog.

Automatic is up there :ehh:

I came in late on E40 though so the older stuff will hit differently.

Tell Me When To Go…everybody in the Bay knew that song. I heard that song being played over the speakers in rich ass Dublin!

I remember hearing it in an ice skating rink when I was a kid, and there was nothing but kids my age there and we knew the lyrics too! :russ: :russ:

You had news channels doing specials on the dangers of ghost riding with Tell Me When To Go playing in the background. That song is nothing short of iconic.

Slightly off topic, but I remember when I moved out of the Bay Area for college, and I was genuinely shocked at the E-40 slander. I couldn’t wrap my head around NOT liking his flow or delivery.

My Club Penguin username was “E40slapz” :russ: or something,

That song alone was enough to give him the title of Ambassador to the Bay.

When i moved to Chicago, i dealt with the same shyt in person but have heard it here for the longest. I dont think i heard one person in the bay say they dont like E-40.
