I think Knight fits in better with the typical pistol/read option offense than Bell....so that's probably the real reason why he got the nod.
Knight might be fine int he long run, but right now I think he's pressing

What happened to OU getting dudes you know are dominant and would be so on the next level? Tired of these dwarf RBs not worth a damn against real talent.

It's a couple of reasons.... The successful negative press from SEC-land and in Texas that were "Chokelahoma" and everyone in the south wants to play in the SEC. With Adrian Peterson we broke the bank, so to get a caliber of player like that to come to Oklahoma is difficult now because of our bowl record. Minus AD, Sam Bradford and Mark Clayton(reaching), the majority of our record-breaking skill players aren't productive and fizzle out of the NFL within 3 years. OSU consistently gets better offensive recruits than we do and we have to fight TCU and Baylor for recruits when recruits would easily snub those schools to attend OU. Also, Josh Heupel is a trash OC because he, even now, has talent that he is under-utilizing now or not using at all..... With all the talent we have on offense, there shouldn't be a problem keeping defenses off-balance, but we are still predictable(even when he had great QB play). All of the 3 star California, Oklahoma and Texas skill players that were getting is all we can manage at the moment. If we don't get a QB in here soon, offensive recruiting will suffer.... We got 3 6'4-6'5 WR/TE recruits that have verbals or are leaning hard towards OU so hopefully, they'll pan out when they get here.
The main problem is recruiting on defense and the debacle that was last season... Basically playing no LB's and terrible defense for the second half of the season turned ALL of the decent defensive recruits off to OU... As I mention before, we are battling TCU and Baylor for recruits and this is where we are losing bad at. That's why this season is important.... We have to find a QB and beat down Baylor and TCU so their recruiting doesn't get stronger. The defense looks promising so that's a blessing.... Hopefully we'll end the season with a good record and a bowl win so we can land better recruits.
