Are you sure about that stat? Chicago was averaging 600+ homicides well into the 2000's in the Bush Era. But only 400+ and 500 in the Obama Era. Maybe the per capita homicide rate went up because the overall population of Chicago dropped?
Boycott the corner stores that sell the worst of the worst to the community. And endorse urban farming solutions brought about by groups like the NOI. The South Side of Chicago has alot of Urban Prairies where urban agriculture may be able to be achieved. Stop blindly voting for the same politicians, and push for healthier food options in the hood. And actually utilize the few pro-black community options provided by the neighborhood activist. Like if there's a Black Vegan place, use it.
