Its the only thing people like to bring up, and its not even a real factor.

There's absolutely no evidence that rap causes violence. But there's plenty of studies to show all those other factors do.

Humans have been killing each other over resources since the beginning of time. Its no different than what's happening in these poor communities.

Anyone who needs studies in order to decide whether or not music about killing and drugs is a factor in these communities has little to no real world experience in these kinds of communities.

And dead ass nikkas who did nothing but harm the community.

Problem solved.
the problem wouldn't be solved. if you killed every single black criminal in america; without changing the factors that creates poverty and inequality, you'll still birth a new generation of future criminals.

y'all nikkas act like there's a crime gene or something. ghettos and black criminality are by design. provide poor schooling, remove opportunity; and you'll almost certainly have a populace to fill cells in prison. that's not even including all the other factors meant to steer blacks into jail, like gang culture, drug laws, hiphop promotion, broken homes, etc.

when whites come through and gentrify communities. do y'all think its safer simply because mr charlie is there? or is it safer because whites come through with wealth, resources and jobs to provide for its community?

Wealth, resources, jobs AND increased law enforcement presence who are there to protect them.

Anyone throwing out statements with absolutely no proof to back them up is just talking out of their ass.

The people don't have the power to leave. You think they like starving?
People not leaving the city is a big part of the problem. in the past people would migrate from one part of the country to the next, following jobs.

But now people are tied to their homes, or just tied to an address where they receive a check.

Brolic... Alcoholics
yes. billions of people all over the world are sitting in violence and poverty cause they are too lazy :martin:

From my experience, yes.

I'm from the ghetto and made up my mind to get the fukk out. It took a life changing experience for me to do it but it got done and I was gone.

Difference being, I had progerssive parents who were preparing me for the world while they were bettering themselves. One of the biggest problems the black youth face is lack of positive guidance. They don't see anyone else tryna do right so why should they?

there are no jobs to move and get. People would move because there was a road to build or a farm to work on. In todays global economy this is no longer a feasible course of action.

Man, woman, and child
Once upon a time that was true.

Life imitates art now.

It's one thing to speak about what going on in the community through music, it's another to glorify and glamourize what's going on in the community.

One is just reporting the news, the other entices people to engage in the very behaviors that exacerbate the problem.
If I'm not mistaken these same gangs in Chicago been around since the 60s and 70s. Some of these kids that's all they kno

Yall expect Chief Keef to be rhyming about social issues
:mjlol:
You can blame record execs for exploiting these kids but don't blame the kids they're just trying to get paid.

I forgot hip hop is responsible for guns on the streets
:rudy:
If hip hop didn't exist shyt would be the same way.
