This is the list we're using, deal with it.

You have

DMX
Em
Nelly
50 Cent
Lil Wayne

These are the 5 hottest rappers of the past 15 years(prime wise)

The question is, who was the hottest

DMX went platinum twice in one year...

Eminem I dont really need to explain

Nelly at one point was the hottest rapper by far, I remember kids dressing up as Nelly for halloween thats how wild it was

50 cent, no need to explain

Lil Wayne, music may be garbage, but be ran shyt from like 2008-2010

50 Cent easily. No one had as much hype and longevity at the top as him.

Eminem is up there but its only cuz hes white.

DMX was hot for a while but he was fighting for the King spot with too many dudes at his peak.

Nelly was a two hit wonder. Hot for maybe a summer or two.

Wayne had his run but it wasnt as big as 50.

Unquestionably 50 Cent.

Album sales, video games, clothes, shoes, action figures, websites.

50 Cent was a marketing monster. It makes his falling off all the more sweeter :wow:

:whoah: there are alot of garbage white rappers. Em actually has skills. But to answer OP's question, I'd have to go with 50.... them G-Unit mixtapes, to destroying Ja Rule's career, to Get Rich Or Die Tryin', to Vitamin Water :whew:

kudos to that man. he used to take pennies from crackheads. true definition of from nothing to something

Nelly's run at the top was possibly greater than 50's. When you consider how huge Country Grammar, Nellyville, Sweat, and Suit. He had a huge ran from 2000-2006. He had the #1 singles, and he four multi-platinum albums in four years (two of them came out on the same day). That's not to mention that dude put St. Louis on the map.

From the list, I'll go with Wayne for the following reasons. His run was longer than anyone on the list except Em. From 2006-2012, Wayne was killin' it. He was making other songs and artists hot just by being on the songs. He had hits of his own. He's also put out a slew of successful albums of his own. I don't necessarily like the music he's come out with during that period, but his fans and the mainstream at up whatever he put out.

:childplease:a two hit wonder yet Country Grammar is the 3rd highest selling hiphop album in 20 years (only behind Eminem's)

EDIT: It was the 3rd highest selling album since 2000 but My point still stands
