You gotta define ''hottest''... as hot in the streets? hot on the radio? hot as how many albums he sold?

I think it's a contest between 50 Cent and Eminem cause both of them are the only worldwide superstars out of that list... I'd say Nelly and Lil' Wayne are a level below them as far a s worldwide popularity and DMX a level below Nelly and Wayne...

Let's discuss certain factors tho:

Longevity - Eminem, he's been going multiplatinum since 99... Wayne been around for a long time also, but never been on Eminems consistent level of populairty...

Radio Hits? - Prolly 50 Cent... His first album was a hit.. every single song got radio airplay... Nelly had a couple worldwide hits too... Lil Waynes lollipop was huge internationally, his other songs werent (outside english speaking countries), DMX wasnt that popular outside the US, and Eminems singles always have been corny with a few exceptions..

Record Sales - Eminem... Bet he's sold more records than 50, X, Weeze and Nelly combined... He's literally on The Beatles, Michael Jackson category when it comes to sales...

On the Streets? Im from NY, so I gotta go with 50 followed by X... Eminem and Nelly corny to street nikkaz and Wayne been sold out...

All in all... I gotta say Eminem is the hottest cause he's sold the most records and has been at the top for 15 years... Rest of these nikkaz run aint been that long...

50 with ease when you talk prime for prime....none of the people u listed had EVERYBODY fukin wit em at they peak.....who didn't fuk wit 50 in his prime:childplease:?

Nelly get a honorable mention,a lot of people bought that first album outta curiosity and liking the single.....and he had more longevity when it came to hits then any of the other dudes...same wit Eminem nikkas fuked with the first album outta curiosity of a white boy who could spit his azz off....but 50 people genuinly fuked with dude and wanted to hear his album and considered themselves fans before the album even dropped:ohlawd:...they'd heard enuff and wuz convinced....50 hands down.

50 Cent easily. No one had as much hype and longevity at the top as him.

Eminem is up there but its only cuz hes white.

DMX was hot for a while but he was fighting for the King spot with too many dudes at his peak.

Nelly was a two hit wonder. Hot for maybe a summer or two.

Wayne had his run but it wasnt as big as 50.
some of what you said is right but your nelly comment is way off if your talking hit songs. There was a time where nelly had a run of hits not just 2 of them.

From the list, I'll go with Wayne for the following reasons. His run was longer than anyone on the list except Em. From 2006-2012, Wayne was killin' it. He was making other songs and artists hot just by being on the songs. He had hits of his own. He's also put out a slew of successful albums of his own. I don't necessarily like the music he's come out with during that period, but his fans and the mainstream at up whatever he put out.
bullshyt, wayne didnt reach the top till carter 3

nikka who cares HE WAS NOT on top THE END. Thats like saying jay was on top in 97' gtfoh

Why are you getting all emotional over a post, first of all? It's not THAT serious. Second, your Jay comparison is way off, Jay wasn't on that many records in '97. Peep:

Despite no album release for two years, Lil Wayne appeared in numerous singles as a featured performer, including "Gimme That" by Chris Brown, "Make It Rain" by Fat Joe, "You" by Lloyd, and "We Takin' Over" by DJ Khaled (also featuring Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, and Birdman), "Duffle Bag Boy" by Playaz Circle, "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)" by Wyclef Jean (also featuring Akon), and the remix to "I'm So Hood" by DJ Khaled (also featuring T-Pain, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Fat Joe, Birdman, and Rick Ross). All these singles charted within the top 20 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Rap Tracks, and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. On Birdman's 2007 album 5 * Stunna, Lil Wayne appeared on the singles "100 Million" and "I Run This" among several other tracks. Wayne also appeared on tracks from albums Getback by Little Brother, American Gangster by Jay-Z, and Graduation by Kanye West and Insomniac by Enrique Iglesias. "Make it Rain", a Scott Storch production that peaked at number 13 on the Hot 100 and number two on the Hot Rap Tracks chart,[28] was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for 2008.[29]
Vibe magazine ranked a list of 77 of Lil Wayne's songs from 2007 and ranked his verse in DJ Khaled's "We Takin Over" as his best of 2007, with "Dough Is What I Got" (a freestyle over the beat of Jay-Z's "Show Me What You Got") from Da Drought 3 the second song.[12] At the end of 2007, an MTV poll selected Lil Wayne as "Hottest MC in the Game",[30] The New Yorker magazine ranked him "Rapper of the Year",[9] and GQ magazine named him "Workaholic of the Year".[31] In 2008 he was named "Best MC" by Rolling Stone.[5] Another article, built around Lil Wayne's 2007 mixtape work, cites his creative practice as an example of post performance creative practice.

^^^ This is all the work of someone without an album out.
