The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Daniel Bryan’s current WWE contract expires in 2018. According to the site, Bryan's contract was frozen while he was out with an injury. When Bryan returned to WWE TV (on SmackDown and the Cruiserweight Classic announce team), the contract went active again.

As far as the Forbes report from last week is concerned (the report claimed WWE had not closed the door on Bryan wrestling again), that is incorrect. WWE has no plans of having Daniel Bryan get back in to the ring at this time. As noted, WWE's doctors will not clear him to return.

Anyone thinking Miz and DB kinda conspired on this one to get Miz more over and let Bryan hint he's not happy? They've been playing this diametric opposites angle for years to the point where they must be respectful colleagues if not just straight up boys.

Def possible, as Bryan was quick to say "if they let me wrestle, I would" during his rebuttal. Also went on to clarify swapping out "bingo halls" with Tokyo Dome on this week's Talking Smack.

Curious what the initial end goal was for that debate anyway, given the fact there was 10 minutes to spare. Ah well.

They should do an angle where Daniel is tryna lowkey sabotage the Mix`s rise to the top.

Daniel can still be the face and the miz can still be a heel. Would make things interesting. Usually there's the heel boss that's tryna stop the face on the come up. It'll wouldbe something different.

Or they could just go ahead and give Daniel bryan one last match against the Miz.

Knowing the wwe they'll let this whole thing cool off and things will go back to status quo.

I don't think it's dead in the water to never be mentioned again, but it was only gonna go so far if Bryan wasn't gonna wrestle. There'll probably still be moments on air where Bryan and Miz have contempt toward each other. Other than that... take or leave.
