Outkast - Idlewild 10 Year anniversary appreciation thread

I know the soundtrack is viewed as the redheaded stepchild of an otherwise flawless discography, but i fukk with it.

I can understand people not liking dre's contributions, they were a little more tied into the the movie. Big boi's contributions were almost as good as any outkast album imo though.

The few songs they did together were dope too.

Might be in the minority here but i even fukked with dre shyt. Maybe because i liked the movie. That shyt got me into the love below as well.

Show some appreciation for the last outkast album.

certainly their weakest project but still good. inconsistent but too many good songs here to call this a bad album. i dont view it so much an outkast album as a soundtrack to the film.

i know it's extremely hard to do, but the entire project just seemed forced. i was as big an OutKast you could find at the time, and i just wasn't into it.

I still play this album all the time, saying it's wack is this tape had everything ..even the maggot brain inspired guitar solo at the end. The skits were good...it was well done considering the way it was laid out. Pj and rooster is classic

I'm still wonderin why except for Greatest Show On Earth the songs on album wasn't even in the movie...Most of em came from Speakerboxxxx/Love Below

Yeah i didn't get that shyt either, it put me onto the love below though, so i ain't complaining. They got that joint Movin' Cool from the greatest hits soundtrack as well. I fukked with that sing heavy and was when dre started playing it.

Damn I need to get the movie while I'm thinkin 'bout it lol I kept hearin Take Off Your Cool...Church...Bowtie...She Lives In My Lap like what do these have to do with the 1930's south I kept lookin for some ragtime blues/jazz like Bessie Smith or Robert Johnson
