I didn't like it, at all.
Just had a talk about this offline, earlier. Problem is, Dre is all about himself. You get inducted into the Hall, you should support Big up there and do it for the fans. If he doesn't want to record new music, that's fine. But this is about giving something back to the people who supported the group forever. And also about him backing Big for the induction.
Big Boi shouldn't have had to do that alone. That was ridiculous.
Big Boi has known this about Andre 3000 for decades. This should be no surprise to an OutKast fan. Andre's verse from "Rosa Parks" was from the perspective of a fan hearing his favorite artist fall off. Then it switches to him not wanting to end up the same way: as a has been. He ends the verse with his hopes of saying they earned the crown. By album 6, OutKast definitely had. People have Andre in the GOAT conversations. He accomplished what he set out to accomplish.
I know some want him to put out a rap album just to say it ain't all that to get their jabs and jokes in. Would it really change anything? People who stan him will swear its the GOAT Hip Hop album. Those who feel he's overrated will still feel that way regardless of what it sounded like. Others will be indifferent.
If by 30, I had accomplished what I set out to in a specific field, why continue doing it if the excitment, enjoyment, and love is no longer there. I would rather him do something else than embarassing himself and the art just to stay relevant or prove a point for the sake of proving a point.
