I think the problem is that they are still doing the EXACT style they were doing almost 20 years ago :francis:...they had creative flows back then but now it just sounds tired. Royce has still been spitting with high end emcee's so his delivery and wit are still top notch :yeshrug:

maybe it's just me. but i dont know if royce has ever been as sick with it as he's been over the past 3-5 years. it's crazy watching the other members of slaughterhouse plateau/stagnate while he's literally been getting better.

i dont say that as a fan of royce. i say that as a fan of hip hop. dude has been on his A++ game for a while.

royce right now reminds me of vintage ghostface. not in terms of style, not in terms of content. just... it's criminal more ppl arent paying attention to an MC at the very peak of his powers. i remember thinking the exact same thing about ghostface after hearing "charlie brown" for the first time.

I'd say that has a lot to do with him stopping drinking in 2012. Even prior to that he didn't drink at all when he was working on BME with Em. Bad Meets Evil, everything Prhyme dropped, House Rules mixtape by Slaughterhouse, and all the other stuff that dropped after Success Is Certain & Slaughterhouse's Shady Records album has been sober Royce
