Overhyped game series this gen?

Mass effect 1 and 2 are just


THEY CREATED A WORLD, filled with history and lore that pulled you in with the single player storyline. The entire thing was epic..the only bad thing i can say about those 2 games is that i wish both games can borrow diffrent aspects of each other and both become perfect


i never played mass effect 3 because my xbox died and i REFUSE to play it on my ps3 without my xbox files that i put so much time into..im going to cop all 3 on the ps3 and do everything all over again...cause thats just how i roll

Those games (2 and 3) are the most fun ive had on ps3 (multiplayer wise) until Last of Us came out

What games this gen came out to you that seemed to be overrated and actually trash??

I'd say Assassins Creed games were boring and overrated. Very repetitive, bland environments and wack story.

Next up would be the Mass Effect series. My god what do people see in these games?? I mean ME2 was alright but god damn the acting in that game was atrocious. I rather had read it then watched the game in action because the acting was plain terrible. Playing TLOU spoiled me. ME3 was just trash period.

GTA IV. Horrible game. Horrible city, horrible gameplay.

Halo series. Nothing special. Halo 3 was great fun in MP but SP was boring as hell. I fell asleep on Reach's story mode. It took me several months to get through it. Halo 4 story mode was surprisingly not as boring because the production values increased tenfold and made for a more engrossing experience. It was forgettable though. Online was fun for like 2 months and then everyone abandoned it except for like one dude on here.

Gears series. Again another boring franchise. MP is the only thing that's good in it. SP is absolutely boring. Drab environments, chest high wall hallway shooter with lots of smoke and mirrors to make it look nicer than it is. UC games greatly exceed these games.

Last but not least, the walking dead games. OMG ??? How the fukk did a point and click game get so much accolades?? Did these people play the real game version of his TLOU?? THAT'S a fukking game. TWD was absolutely prosaic all in it's sense. Ellie>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Clementine all the fukking wa. Lee was a cornball brotha and he just was wack.

I'm with you 100%. That Walking Dead ending had me like So for a point and click to be more entertaining and better than most of the AAA games this generation is saying a lot.

Gears of War turned into crap.
Halo was great..then it got over saturated. (Halo Wars, Reach, Halo TV..cut it out already)

Mass Effect...I fukking loved this series. Until 3 buttfukked everyone.

I still fukk with Assassin's Creed. Yes I do, so fukk all of you! Assassin's Creed 3 was utter bullshyt. It felt like they just gave up in the middle of game. "Yeah guys we are making this game but you know....lets talk about these hoes!!! Just put whatever in the game, they will buy it)...But I'm expecting 4 to be piff...I'm addicted.

But what happened to fukking Final Fantasy. You talk about a series falling apart!!!! That new one is COMPLETE BULLshyt! I'm glad to see they are going to back to the old ways and got rid of the CEO over there at Square but damn they fukked up.

Metal Gear Fell off too.. Rising was stupid and boring. And 4, even though I liked it was crap compared to 1-2 and 3...

It seems this generation was about innovation. Low tech innovation. Angry Birds, Mindcraft, shyt I even went back to my old PSP to play older RPGs. State of Decay is a good game because it isn't all high graphics it's about giving the player more than he expected. .....

Fall out 3 sh!t put me to sleep, Mass Effect...

Gears of war might take the crown though, when I heard people calling it a superior version of Uncharted 2 multiplayer and being that U2 was crack I went and copped the DVD box with Gears 3. No exaggeration after I finally connected online and I sat there playing this....

I felt like I was on the verge of depression, I went through all this hassle for this game , what was I thinking... Sold both game/console at a loss.

To this day I think that's the worst investment I've made.
