In the Three NBA Final's trips, only one year has more than one player on the Warrior reached the 20.0ppg average for the series, and that was last year, when KD came. Oh, Klay got close one year when he averaged 19.6, but 19.6 isn't 20.0ppg, and he shot 42 from the field, and 35 from three, despite having shot 47 from the field and 42 from 3 during the season, while also averaging 22.1ppg.
Klay's production ALWAYS fall off during the Finals. Steph Curry's production, in two of the three Finals he played in, dipped below his season averages, and he has never been as efficient in the NBA Finals as he has been during the season.
Also, Kyrie Irving missed one of the NBA Finals, but in both series, he averaged more points than Steph, and was more efficient than Steph. In fact, Kyrie's efficiency goes UP during the NBA Finals, whereas Steph's goes down - with or without KD.
Also very noteworthy is, since 2010, only ONE team has had five players averaging double-digit points, with at least one player averaging better than 20.0 and that is the Miami Heat. It was done twice, and one of those years the Heat had two players averaging better than 20.0, with a total of five starters averaging double-digits.
As we can see, while Golden State is, indeed, a great offensive power - the actual numbers do not hold up the notion that they have too much firepower. What they DO is make the right plays at the right time, which goes deeper than just a statline a regular stateline.
Golden States top stars tend to take a dip in scoring and efficiency compared to the regular season, while CLEVELAND'S stars tend to INCREASE, compared to regular season.
