At the end of the day, I hope my children and their children and so on and so forth, nurture the next generation that is going to allow them to carry on the bloodline. That's all that matters. A healthy bloodline, no matter how diluted it may become, is still better than a bloodline ceasing to exist, or one that is marred by trauma and neglect.
I see where you are coming from
