Mines just an observation and speculation. Nothing more. Matter of fact I'll show you the flip side, straight from the horses mouth:

There it is. LV says Coolio wrote the raps. Coolio also says he wrote the raps here but tells a slightly different story:

And wants to leave the moment they bring up Pac and why he erased his vocals. Whats interesting here is that he says he virtually freestyled the song and quickly wrote in down in one take as he pulled it out of the air using exactly the same technique people say Pac used, no rewrites, no typos, just 3 instant verses in one go:

"I didn't really write Gangstas Paradise. Gangstas Paradise wrote me" :jbhmm:

Odd thing to say for the biggest hit in his catalog that sounds like nothing before nor since and yet is saturated with Pacisms and would fit perfectly with the kind of songs he was writing at the time.

More speculation: It was known Pac was doing verses for cash at this time just to keep his family afloat as the cases were draining his money and the controversy was getting him dropped from projects, performances cancelled etc. Same thing as Kellz during his Piper era where he was selling hits with hooks to anyone who'd pay. Pac was also all over soundtracks from 93/94 as virtually every urban film that dropped had a song from him on there, except this one where we got Coolio rapping an entire track that sounds exactly like Pac.

Everyone from Pacs broke days that came to break bread and drop a 16 on DR said he was lavish with the checks and was handing out huge money for features as a way of saying thanks because he had the budget and the clout to do so. Yet even when Coolio dropped down from 3K to $500 he still wouldn't pay, not only wouldn't he pay he said "erase the vocals" after having planned the song for a year.

May just be my observations but from where I'm sitting they're hitting reality in a accurate way that explains a lot about a little...

if they told him ahead of time, it was 2pac, he wouldve gave it a 5.:pachaha:
Fact:pachaha: vid sums up 80% of pac stanleys
thread is the coli personified

OP advances a theory that is personal and Pac stans claim it's official and accept it as truth. that's all it takes.

is this shyt plausible. yes but it's not confirmed yet people are arguing each other down as if it's indeed fact

@CHICAGO put down the pom poms son :picard:

watching this unfold is what makes threads like these gold:pachaha:

I think we had a thread on SOHH on this way back. I always felt this to be true, if Coolio did write it he 100% had to put in a concerted effort to write a track the way Pac would've at the time. It couldn't have been some subconscious influence or something. Literally every line is vintage Pac that can be linked to some other Pac line with the same vocab, way of phrasing things, theme, rhyme scheme and even actual rhymes.

Just another example: 'be like' and 'street light' obviously don't rhyme in the conventional sense but in Pac's mind and work they did. See his lyrics later on DR on Late Night: "Runnin' through the street lights, 'cause we like, Yo nikka get yo mob on show 'em what a G like"

For those who say many rappers rhyme like that, I'd like to see an example from a rapper in 94-96 who rhymed those specific words like that? :ld:

On a related note, I like those Outlaw/Thoroheadz tracks where Pac either wrote it or clearly coached them to rap a certain way. Pac was a master at his craft.

IF pac did write that blassic (which he was very much capable of) it would take sooner/more than thecoli to uncover it

Coli is reaching on this one since

a) 2pac stans would have unearthed this info years ago and tell us what exactly he had for lunch the day he wrote it
b) 2pac was shot in November 94 and was in jail for the majority of 1995. When exactly would he have written it?
