Pacquiao's Adviser Not Worried Zab Helping Mayweather

Mike Koncz, adviser to WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, has no concerns over Floyd Mayweather Jr. using former three division champion Zab Judah as a sparring partner. Judah is a quick southpaw. Mayweather takes on Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather and Judah are longtime friends but actually fought each other in 2006, with Floyd winning a twelve round decision. The fight had controversy after a brawl broke out between the two trainers, Roger Mayweather Joel Judah.

“We don’t care about it,” Koncz told The Manila Times in a phone interview. “Nobody in this world can do what Manny [Pacquiao] does inside the ring. Zab Judah is a southpaw just like Manny, but he can’t be like Manny in many ways that’s why we’re not bothered.”


“Everything is fine and great. That’s what all I can say. I don’t want to act rude with somebody but we lockout Manny’s training and I can’t discuss anything more to you about it. I know you people will understand it."

U say hes going to fight him in the inside but im saying once he does and feels mannys power i think hes gonna back off and box him from the outside like he should.

hes going to create his space with the jab and counter him if he comes in.

manny doesnt fight on the inside, at all. hes in trouble if he does, manny is best at midrange, when have you ever seen mmanny on the inside shoulder to shoulder putting in body work and countering? mid range is where pacquiao is best. his inisde work is almost nonexistant

True... I wasn't thinking that much inside but closer than being on the outside... When people try to rush Floyd and fight him in the inside they just miss or he smothers ur shots, he counters with little sneaky shots.

He needs space to do his stutter-step 1,2 thing. That's why I know Floyd is going to follow him around the ring with a respectable distance, Floyd likes to paw his jab out to measure his distance and use his superior footwork to contain Manny. That is what I'm expecting.
